Lost River Winery
Located on the banks of its namesake in Mazama, Washington, the Lost River Winery is a family owned business producing limited bottlings of Columbia Valley wines.
Now available are the 2003 Walla Walla Valley Syrah and 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon. On August 6th the winery will release its 2003 Merlot and 2004 Semillon during the summer barrel tasting of 2004 Syrah. This event is open to the public with complimentary appetizers and chocolate delicacies. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon will be released in time for Christmas.
The winery was bonded in September of 2002, just in time for the first crush. The winery building was designed by former road and bridge engineer, John Morgan. John gained his winemaking experience with courses through the University of California at Davis, extensive study, home winemaking, and loads of help from Washington's established winemakers and wine growers, "the greatest people on the planet." Partner Barbara House and her son Liam, who is director of marketing and sales for the winery, round out the company roster.
Our grapes are grown under acreage contracts with some of Washington's finest wine grape growers in the Walla Walla and Yakima valleys as well as the Wahluke Slope region of the Columbia valley. In this way we can bring our growers' drive for excellence and decades of experience into a mutual focus on quality.
We look forward to seeing you in Mazama and wish you a peaceful and prosperous year.
